1872 Kepi

Adopted in 1872 this forage cap or Chasseur style cap replaces the 1858 “bummer” forage cap, smaller and lighter it became popular with both the officers and enlisted man. The chin straps and heavy unbound leather visor are made of painted enamel leather. Half inch leather chin strap with correct brass slide buckle and a pull tie glazed cotton lining.
