Issued Style muslin Shirt

Copy of a U.S. issued shirt made of heavy cotton muslin.

This shirt is made from a heavy cotton muslin. The shirt has one button at the collar and each cuff, as well as reinforcements at the shoulders, ends of the neck, cuffs and side openings. It is a copy of a U.S.-issued shirt that dates back to the War of 1812 up to about 1858 when new specifications were adopted. The pattern remained the same the type of material used changed, knowing how the military works, they would continue issuing an item until supplies where exhausted. There would be a very good chance that this style shirt would still have seen service very early in the civil war. This item is individually made per order and made in the U.S. I am run about 20 weeks behind.
